The most common Deca Durabolin side effects are the impact on libido and erectile dysfunction.
Just like other anabolic steroids, the use of this steroid suppresses the production of testosterone in the body. Deca Durabolin is extremely suppressive. Just like other Nandrolone hormones, Deca Durabolin is a 19-nor anabolic steroid.
Just like other 19-nor compounds, Deca Durabolin is a progestin hence it can promote estrogenic activity like gynecomastia. Progesterone can activate the estrogenic mechanism since it has the ability of stimulating the mammary tissue. The estrogenic activity of the hormone also exists, though it’s usually low. Nandrolone does not undergo aromatizing. However, it aromatises at a low rate of approximately 20% that of testosterone. This low rate can however, produce extrogenic activity that is enough to promote gynecomastia and water retention. As a result of the progesterone factor, the probability of gynecomstia increases.
Anabolic steroids suppress the production of testosterone in the body, and since Deca Durabolin is also an anabolic steroid it also suppresses testosterone production. Studies have shown that a single low dose injection of Nadrolone hormone can suppress more than 75% of all the natural production of testosterone in the body, though some studies have shown up to a 100% suppression rate. The ability of the steroid to suppress the production of testosterone does not consider who you are, what other drugs you are taking or your genetics.
Just like other anabolic steroids, Deca Durabolin use can adversely affect the heart. Taking high dosages of the drug can increase blood pressure though the chances decline if water retention is controlled. Cholesterol is also another issue. Nandrolone can negatively affect cholesterol levels in the body. However, the effect that this steroid has on cholesterol is mild as compared to other anabolic steroids.
Some of the androgenic side effects associated with the use of this steroid include body hair growth, acne and loss of hair.
